Abstract
Differences between the tap-changing process in conventional mechanical and electronic tap-changers are briefly reviewed. A model of the controller of a mechanical tap-changer system is then presented. Modifications to this controller are then proposed for adaptation to an electronic tap-changer. A general structure of an electronic tap-changer and the simulation of the modified controller are then presented. A number of experimental results shows the performance of the modified controller.
