Abstract
The difficulties of teaching electromagnetic field theory to electrical engineers are well recognised, and are increased by modern course requirements. It is suggested that the `Maxwell´ equations are unnecessary, together with the concepts of flux on which they are founded, and that a fresh look is needed at what is meant by magnetic and electric `fields´
