Abstract :
An integrated finite element package for the solution of magnetostatic and eddy current problems, suitable for use on personal computers, is presented. It can handle general field problems but is particularly applicable to nondestructive-evaluation modelling problems including moving probes. The package consists of an interactive preprocessor, routines for adaptive and nonadaptive mesh generation, bandwidth reduction algorithms, iterative and direct linear solvers, and a postprocessor. A simple expert system shell is used in conjunction with the user input. The main emphasis throughout the package is on useful options, simplification of user input, and minimization of the time needed to define correctly a geometry for finite element analysis. Extensive graphics editing capabilities are provided
