اگر چه انديشه‌هاي عرفاني مولانا در مثنوي، با تفاوتي چشمگير نسبت به آثار تعليمي ديگر، ثبت­ شده، ناب‌ترين انديشه‌هاي عاطفي او را بايد در غزليات­ شمس مشاهده كرد. انديشه‌هايي كه در پشت پرده الفاظ پنهان‌اند و از افق گسترده آگاهي و دانايي مولانا پرده بر مي‌گيرد. بي‌گمان از ميان هزاران انديشه نابي كه در ذهن مولانا موج مي‌زند، «حيرت» از كليدي‌ترين آن‌ها براي راه‌يابي به اين بحر ژرف، خواهد بود. موضوع مقاله حاضر بررسي اجمالي حيرت در غزليات شمس است. مولانا براي باز نمود اين موضوع نه تنها از واژه حيرت و مشتقات آن بهره مي‌گيرد؛ بلكه آن را از رهگذر دال‌هاي ديگر نظير «سرگرداني»، «سرگشتگي»، «تعجب» و نظاير اين‌ها به خواننده القا مي‌كند. در اين ميان تصويرهاي زيبا و از آن جمله استفاده او از دايره و پرگار براي تجسم سرگرداني، نظرگير است. به هر روي در اين وجيزه نگاهي گذرا به منشا حيرت مولانا افكنده‌ايم و از آن پس پيوند آن را با عقل و فكر و عجز ادراك بشر در فهم حقايق و عشق و توانمندي‌اش در اين راه، بر رسيده و با اشارتي به حقيقت و زيبايي، زبان و خاموشي و پير، سخن خود را به پايان برده‌ايم.

Although mystical thoughts of Molana in Masnavi have been recorded with significant difference compared to other educational works, we have to see his purest emotional thoughts in Shams Poems. The thoughts hiding behind the words and discloses his broad horizon of intelligence and knowledge.Undoubtedly among thousands of rare thoughts floating in Molana’s mind, astonishment is one of their most important ones to reach this deep sea.
