چكيده فارسي :
اين نوشتارترجمه‌ي فصل دوم كتابِ «دموكراسي اقليت، اثر مايكل پارنتي انديشمند علوم سياسي و منتقد نظام سرمايه داري آمريكا است. او در اين اثر، بر اساس اطلاعات مستند و برگرفته از جرائد و رسانه‌هاي امريكا، تفاوت فاحش و باورنكردني بين طبقه‌ي ثروتمند و طبقات مياني و پايين را به‌تصوير كشيده است. آسيب‌هاي ناشي از زياده طلبي‌هاي بيش از حد نظام سرمايه داري در حوزه‌هاي اقتصادي، فرهنگي و محيط زيست، در اين اثر مورد بررسي واقع شده است و مطالعه‌ي آن به‌خوبي نشان مي‌دهد كه چگونه اقليت سرمايه دار، از طريق سلطه‌اي كه بر رسانه ها، مراكز فرهنگي و آموزشي و نيز بر مبادي سياستگذار و تصميم گيرنده دارد، با جديت اهداف خود را دنبال مي‌كند. در اين نظام، سودجويي افراطي اقليت سرمايه دار، جاي مصلحت انديشي براي امور ملت را گرفته و عملاً فضايي براي انديشه‌ي آزاد و طرح مطا لبات ملي باقي نگذاشته است. خواننده ي اين اثر به خوبي از استيلاي اقليّتي كمتر از سه درصد جمعيت ايالات متّحده بر حدود 80 درصد منابع و ثروت آن كشور پي خواهد برد. نقدي هم توسط مات نئونكه بر آخرين چاپ اين اثر به‌رشته‌ي تحرير در آمده است. اين نقد با نوعي عصبيت همراه است و در آن، گاهي واژگان موهني به‌كار رفته كه در شأن يك صاحب قلم نيست؛ اين نقد به‌هيچ وجه نتواسته است استنادات پارنتي را تضعيف نمايد و تنها به‌دلبستگي پارنتي به‌ماركسيسم و ناديده گرفتن ارزش‌هاي غربي ا شاره كرده و بر آن پا مي‌فشارد.
چكيده لاتين :
This writing is a translation made from the second chapter of Michael Parenti's Democracy for the Few. The author is an American scholar in politics and a serious critic against American Capitalism. In this work, using valid information presented in American publications and media, the author has brought the terrible unequality between the rich ,the middle and the poor classes into eyes. The damages occurred due to extravagancies in different areas including economics , culture, geology are investigated in detail. A glance at Parenti’s work clearly shoes that how a few men of very great wealth , powerfully exerting influence on media, cultural and educational centers, and men of state, are seeking their aims hard. In the system of capitalism, to seek more and far more interest has been intentionally substituted in place of justice, logical and nationally interested decision and no room has remained for exposing national demands and freely thinking.
Meanwhile, Matt Neunke, an American scholar, has presented a critical note on the seventh edition of Parenti's work; this note, however, is too far to be called a scientific one. Some words and sentences used there, clearly seem to be impolite and prejudicial. The critic has never been able to weaken the evidences used by Parenti and only relies on Prenti's tendency to Marxism and his unfaithfulness to western values and focuses on them.
