مقاله حاضر با هدف معرفي كتاب "بيوتكنولوژي و ژنتيك در شيلات و آبزي­ پروري (ويرايش دوم)" كه توسط انتشارات وايلي-بِلَك‌وِل (Wiley-Blackwell) منتشر شده است، نگاشته شده است. در كتاب حاضر مباحث ژنتيكي و تكنولوژي زيستي به صورت بنيادي بيان شده است. كتاب مذبور معرفي بسيار عالي ­اي از كاربرد دانش بيوتكنولوژي و ژنتيك در علوم آبزي­پروري داشته است. نسخه دوم كتاب "بيوتكنولوژي و ژنتيك در شيلات و آبزي ­پروري" مطالب مهمي در اختيار دانشجويان و علاقه ­مندان در زمينه­ هاي زيست­ شناسي، علوم آبزيان، شيلات، ژنتيك و بيوتكنولوژي قرار مي ­دهد. بنابراين، اين مقاله پيشنهاد مي ­كند تا نسخه­ هايي از اين كتاب در دانشگاه­ها و موسسات تحقيقاتي كه در آن­ها علوم زيستي، شيلات و آبزي­ پروري مورد مطالعه و تدريس قرار مي­گيرد، توزيع شود.

This paper is written to introduce the book “Biotechnology and Genetics in Fisheries and Aquaculture (Second Edition)", published by Wiley-Blackwell Publishing. Genetic and biotechnology issues have been reported fundamentally in this book. The book had an excellent introduction to the application of biotechnology and genetics sciences in aquaculture. The second edition of the book "Biotechnology and Genetics in Fisheries and Aquaculture" provides the important information to students interested in the fields of biology, aquatic science, fisheries, genetics and biotechnology. Therefore, this paper proposes to be distributed copies of this book in universities and research institutions where teaching of biological, fisheries and aquaculture sciences is done.
