مكتب گنوسي از مهمترين مكاتب ديني-عرفاني سده‌هاي اول پيشامسيحي و پس از آن است كه شالوده‌اي از بنيادي‌ترين انديشه‌هاي معرفتي و فلسفي آن روزگار را در نظام الهياتي خود دارد. انديشه‌هايي چون ثنويت، هبوط روح، معرفت شهودي و نظريۀ نجات و رستگاري. دراين مقاله تلاش شده تا ضمن تبيين ساختار كلي انديشۀ گنوسي و چگونگي شكل‌گيري آن در مقام نحله‌اي فكري وتأثيرگذار، به مهمترين مباني اين مكتب در باب موضوعاتي چون معرفت و آگاهي باطني گنوسي، خداشناسي و چشم‌انداز ثنوي حاكم بر هستي، انسان شناسي و خاستگاه دوگانۀ روحاني و مادي انسان، كيهان شناسي و ساختار مادي و ناپايدار جهان، فرجام شناسي و موضوع رهايش، نجات ورستگاري آدمي و نيز بحث اخلاقيات گنوسي و چارچوب‌هاي عملي آن پرداخته شود و ديدگاههاي كلي اين مكتب، در باب موضوعات اساسي فكري و فلسفي آن روزگار مورد بررسي و تحليل قرارگيرد.
