Analyzed of Spent Liquor of HMX Plant and Recovery of Acetic Acid

Recovery of acetic acid from spent liquor of HMX plant, because of presence of nitric acid and other sensitive explosive material (in dissolved condition) by simple distillation is not feasible. Therefore the amount of nitric acid in the presence of acetic acid and other ingredients is measured and then with suitable media (usually NaOH or NH3) neutralized, recovery of acetic acid is feasible without an explosion hazards by distillation under reduced pressure. In this paper the methods of analyses in acid mixture (acetic and nitric acid) in the plant in spent liquor of HMX plant and the disadvantage is viewed and then from conduct meter method for first step for measuring this acid mixture is handled in these paper the spent liquor by classical and instrumental method analyzed and the compos ion is identified. The major ingredient is acetic acid and the other nitric and formic ammonium nitrate RDX, HMX.
