Morals and Islamic Mysticism

One of the characteristics of servants of the Merciful God is that they thoroughly listen to the divine verses and meditate and deeply think about them and they donʹt confront them like the blind and the deaf. On contrast when the polytheists encounter the divine verses, they are so blind and deaf that they neither see nor hear them, even though they seemingly have eyes and ears. They do have exoteric eye and ear but donʹt benefit from esoteric eye and ear. In addition to these two groups, some believers feel exhausted and bored when they encounter divine verses or wise speeches and on the other hand they show to be interested in pointless works. This is because first of all they have not trained themselves and their soul very well and second of all their soul is tended towards a direction that they desire. Thus their heart is not present in their prayer and they donʹt have enough concentration when they study and overall they are not the owner of their thought and feelings. One can revive the signs of the servants of the Merciful God in himself by training his thought and soul and by thoroughly listening to the divine verses and mediating and deeply thinking about them.
