Analysis of I.R.I Foreign Policy Based on National Identity

The alliance and relationship between national identity and foreign policy has long been disregarded on account of the dominant paradigm of realism in international Relations Morgenthau in his book entitled "Politics among Nations" and kennet Waltz in "The Man, State, and war" and "Theory of International Politics," both, in their hypothesis have exhaustively and explicitly denied the relation and even juxtaposition of culture, national identity, on the one hand, and the foreign Policy on the other hand. Another reason for the paucity of attention to the realm was due to the domination of behaviorism which concentrated mainly on tangible and measurable phenomena. Consequently, definition of culture and determining its relationship to other phenomena was extremely difficult. With the advent of Evolutionism in international relations and paying heed to beliefs, ideas and non- material elements "identity" gained its position in international relations. As a result in a trenchant analysis of I.R.I foreign Policy great emphasis has been put on ideas and beliefs, on the other hand I.R.I National identity is now known as a Cognitive subject matter which has root in a Common understanding of Iran and other countries. National identity of I.R.I is the conception of this country based on Concepts & notions of other Countries.In this paper an attempt is made to shed light on I.R.I foreign policy (1357 -1387 ) on the basis of national identity.
