An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of different N levels on yeild and yield Component of three forage sorghum cultivars. Three sorghum cultivars viz: Speed feed, Jumbo, and a native strain (Syahzan) were treated by 0, 50, 75, and 100 Kglha N fertilizer and compared in Complete Randomized Block Design With three replications. During the vegetative and generative growth period plant growth characteristics such as steming, budding, plant height, stem and leaf dry matter and number of tillers were recorded. To investigate the growh index, the plant dry matter and leaf area was measured in few stages of plant growth, Nitrogen levels had a significant effect yield and growth index of sorghum (P<0.05). Nitrogen application of 100 Kg/ha produced the highest forage dry matter as well as silage production. The plant, leaf and stem dry matter were the highest at 100 kg/ha nitrogen level.
