The Study of Standard Time of Offering Services in the Iranian Passenger Trains (Improving the Productivity)

Productivity is one of the most important subjects in the new world and each organization has to pay attention to this important issue. To improve productivity, it is necessary to determine each activity and find the improvable points. This is even more considerable for service industry. This study focuses on the services offered by workers of the passenger trains. The standard time of each activity was computed and were analysed by Stopwatch method. Finally, the number of workers needed was computed and some of th productivity improvement solutions were developed. The study indicated that the Labor productivity can be increased by 18%.
