A Comparative Study on the Power of Leadership among Faculty Members of IAU from Studentsʹ Point of View according to their Field of Study, Gender, and Scientific Status

The purpose of the present study was to conduct a comparison on the power of leadership among faculty members of Islamic Azad University Firouzabad Branch from studentsʹ point of view according to their field of study, gender, and scientific status. To conduct the research, the faculty memberʹs Leadership Scale designed and standardized by Mashayekh (2004) was used. This 48-item scale measures the leadership power of the faculty members from a variety of aspects. In this respect, stratified random sampling was used to select sample in proportion to the number of faculty members. Then, simple random sampling was applied to distribute the questionnaire. The data were analyzed using T-test, one-way ANOVA, and two-way ANOVA. The findings indicated that 1) the leadership power was more among male faculty members than the female, 2) there was a significant difference between the leadership power among faculty members from different fields of study, 3) the average leadership power was higher than others among lecturers, and 4) the interaction of gender and field of study had no effect on the leadership power.
