Investigations of structural feature of northwestern part of Dena mount

Dena is a long and high mountain with tens of higher than 4000 meters peaks that is located in southwest of Iran. Geotectonically is located in the high Zagros, on the border of Fars and Central Zagros units. In the length of mount, the strike of strata which have formed the mountain has been changed. On the basis of these changes, Dena is divided into 3 separate units: North unit, branched unit and south-central unit. Northwestern part of Dena contains branched unit, north unit and north part of central-southern unit. The branched and north units show obvious deviation from the general trend of Zagros. But the central-south unit is parallel to that general trend. The branched unit as an asymmetric anticline that has been formed over the Bonshahi thrust, joins to the Zone between the north and central units, from its west side. The north and central units are structurally homoclines which their formation is related to Listric geometry of the Dena fault segments. These units joint to each other because the fault segments under them joint to each other. Indeed, the previously existed fault geometry causes to form such a feature. And so different units of Dena mountain are the fault related folds.
