Investigation on Floristic, Life form and chorotype of Bashgal area, Takestan county

Bashgal reserve area is located in the northwest and north of Takestan county. The regional climate is cold mountainous. This region is located between longitudes 49° 29ʹ to 49° 40ʹ N and latitudes 36° 03 ʹ to 36° 14ʹ E. Its maximum altitude is 2092 m. The precipitation in this region is about 247.7 mm. The plants specimens were collected between 2005 to 2006. The specimens are preserves in Mahmodieah Centerʹs Herbarium. About 339 species belong to 220 genera and 59 families. The most abundant families are Asteraceae, Brassicaceae and Fabaceae and Astragalus is the largest genus in this area (29 species). 33 percent of species are hemicrypthophytes. 62% (212 species) of species are Irano - Turanian. According to the obtained results from the plant species in this study, ecological factors such as altitude, slope, exposure and wind direction are an important factors on plants distribution.Sci.Rcs.Bio J.of.
