Studying Seismic Vulnerability of Highway Bridges in Iran Using Fragility Curves

In this research, analytical seismic fragility curves are developed for one type of highway bridges in Iran. For modeling purpose, typical technical-detailing of a three-span-highway-bridge provided in the publication No. 294 of Management and Planning Organization of Iran, is employed. A nonlinear model of the bridge is developed in OpenSees software. 20 pairs of seismic records are selected from PEER ground motion data bank. The results obtained by fragility analysis are presented as seismic fragility curves. Keywords: Highway bridges; Analytical fragility curves; Nonlinear time history analysis
