A review on chemical propulsion systems used in adjustment of satellites orbit and reconsidering of catalytic propulsion systems

After the launching a satellite, controlling of it in a certain orbit is a key step in a space program. Three propulsion systems have been suggested for the purpose. They are: cold gas thruster, hot gas thruster and warm gas thruster (catalytic propulsion system). The cold gas thruster uses an inert gas. It is a simple system, with a low specific impulse and large volume. The hot gas thruster is a bipropellant system with a high specific impulse. The system is used for controlling the large satellite. Due to low controlling of thrust, it is seldom used for adjustment of large satellite orbit. It is mainly used for transfer the satellite. The warm gas thruster is an applicable system for adjustment satellite orbit. In this review paper, the mentioned systems are introduced and catalytic propulsion system re studied in details.
