The Role of Iran in Islamic World Medical Tourism with Emphasis on Nature Therapy: Functions, Challenges, and Strategies

امروزه گردشگري درماني با هدف بهره گيري از فوايد درماني و تاثيرات جسمي و رواني مورد توجه گردشگران قرار گرفته است. كشور ايران در زمينه‌ي گردشگري درماني داراي توانمندي هاي بسياري نظير داروهاي نو تركيب، سلول هاي بنيادين، چشم پزشكي، هزينه ها‌ي كم پزشكي و اقامتي، اشتراكات ديني و پتانسيل هاي طبيعي همچون لجن درماني، ماسه درماني، گل فشان ها و وجود هزاران چشمه‌ي آب معدني است؛ اما توسعه‌ي اين حوزه از گردشگري آن طور كه بايد و شايد مورد توجه نهادهاي متولي امر قرار نگرفته است و به تبع آن در سطح كسب و كار نيز مجموعه هاي خصوصي و موفقي در اين زمينه بوجود نيامده است. اين تحقيق با هدف بررسي چرايي توسعه نيافتگي گردشگري درماني و عوامل مرتبط با آن در كشور به روش توصيفي- تحليلي صورت پذيرفت. نتايج نشان داد با توجه به پتانسيل هاي موجود و موقعيت استراتژيك ايران در همجواري با كشورهاي مسلمان، توانايي تبديل كشور به قطب گردشگري درماني وجود دارد.

Nowadays, medical tourism has attracted the attention of tourists to use medical benefits and physical and psychological effects of special regions. Iran possess capabilities such as new synthetic drugs, stem cells, cancer and eye treatments, and also low cost medical in relation to European and American countries, low cost accommodation, religious commonalities, natural potentials such as climatic diversity and 4-seasons country, mud therapy, sand therapy, muddy puddle, mud volcano, and the existence of more than 1000 mineral springs and other natural attractions that have necessary potentials in medical tourism. But responsible institutions don’t pay enough attention to the development of this scope of tourism and consequently private and successful complexes have not formed in business level. This research aims to reply to undeveloped medical tourism and the related factors The method of the research is based on applied research and in gathering data is descriptive-analytic. And in addition to analyzing the status of medical tourism tries to consider the role and functions of those obstacles and strategies in creating medical tourism industry in Iran. Research results show that According to the available potentials and location strategic in proximity with Muslim countries this capability exists that in the field of medical tourism and treatment nature to become a medical tourism
