بررسي فراواني تجويز راديوگرافي ديجيتال و دلايل استفاده و عدم استفاده از آن توسط دندان‌پزشكان استان اصفهان در سال 1391

Evaluation of frequency of use of digital radiography and the reasons for using or not using digital imaging among dentists in Esfahan in 2012

چكيده مقدمه: در دندان‌پزشكي استفاده از راديوگرافي ديجيتال به‌عنوان يك تكنولوژي جديد تصويربرداري در حال افزايش است. راديوگرافي ديجيتال فوايد بالقوه زيادي دارد. هدف از اين مطالعه، تعيين توزيع فراواني استفاده از راديوگرافي ديجيتال و دلايل استفاده و عدم استفاده از آن در ميان دندان‌پزشكان استان اصفهان بود. مواد و روش‌ها: در اين مطالعه توصيفي- تحليلي تعداد 140 نفر از دندان‌پزشكان استان اصفهان از ميان افراد شركت‌كننده در كلاس‌هاي بازآموزي به‌صورت تصادفي در زمستان 1391 انتخاب شده و پرسش‌نامه‌اي با 18 سوال در اختيار آنان قرار داده شد كه به‌صورت حضوري تكميل گرديد. اطلاعات جمع‌آوري شده وارد رايانه شده و در نرم‌افزار آماري SPSS نسخه 16 توسط آزمون‌هاي آماري كاي دو و T دو نمونه‌اي مستقل مورد تجزيه و تحليل قرار گرفت (05/0 = ?). يافته‌ها: 10 نفر (2/7 درصد) از نمونه‌ي مورد پژوهش، داراي سيستم‌هاي ديجيتال در مطب بودند. 104 نفر (8/74 درصد) جهت ارجاع به مراكز راديولوژي از تجويز راديوگرافي ديجيتال استفاده كردند. عدم نياز به فرآيند ظهور و ثبوت، عدم ايجاد آرتيفكت‌هاي مربوط به ثبوت و ظهور و نيز دوز كم‌تر اشعه، مهم‌ترين دلايل استفاده از راديوگرافي ديجيتال توسط شركت‌كنندگان در مطالعه بودند. تفاوت معني‌داري در استفاده از راديوگرافي ديجيتال در بين افراد با سابقه‌ي كار مختلف و نيز با درجه‌ي تحصيلي متفاوت (عمومي و متخصص) مشاهده نشد (619/0 = p value سابقه‌ي فعاليت و 45/0 = p value درجه‌ي تحصيلي). نتيجه‌‌گيري: با توجه به محدوديت‌هاي اين مطالعه، گرچه فراواني استفاده از تجهيزات راديوگرافي ديجيتال در مطب بين دندان‌پزشكان استان اصفهان پايين است، تجويز آن از نظر ارجاع به مراكز راديولوژي مناسب مي‌باشد. عدم نياز به فرآيند ظهور و ثبوت و بالا بودن هزينه‌ها به‌ترتيب از مهم‌ترين دلايل به‌كارگيري و عدم استفاده از اين تكنولوژي است. كليد واژه‌ها: راديوگرافي ديجيتال، راديولوژي، دندان‌پزشكان

Abstract Introduction: Use of digital radiography in dentistry, as a new imaging technique, continues to increase. A digital system has numerous advantages. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of the use of digital radiography and the reasons for using or not using digital imaging systems among dentists in Esfahan in 2012. Materials and methods: In the present descriptive/analytical survey, 140 dentists who participated in continuing education courses in 2012 were randomly included. The participants received a questionnaire consisting of 18 questions and filled it on the spot. Data was analyzed by SPSS 16 using chi-squared test and t-test (?=0.05). Results: Ten responders (7.2%) had digital equipment in their office; 104 dentists (74.8%) prescribed digital radiographs for referring patients to radiology centers. The most important reasons for using digital systems by the respondents were no need for film processing steps, absence of artifacts due to film processing procedures and low radiation doses. There were no significant differences between the users and non-users of digital systems in relation to educational degree (general practitioner or specialist) and years in dentistry (p value = 0.619, years in dentistry; p value = 0.45, educational degree). Conclusion: Under the limitations of the present study, although the frequency of the use of digital radiographic systems is low in dental offices in Esfahan, it is advisable top order digital radiographs when referring patients to radiology centers. Lack of need for film processing steps and high costs are the reasons for using and not using digital systems, respectively. Key words: Dentists, Digital Radiography, Radiology
