بررسي مقايسه اي استعاره هاي خشم در زبان فارسي و انگليسي

A contrastive study of the metaphors of anger in Persian and English

مقاله حاضر به مقايسه استعاره­ هاي مربوط به احساس خشم در زبان­ هاي فارسي و انگليسي بر اساس الگوي شناختي- زباني ليكاف و كاوكسس (1987) مي­ پردازد. داده­ هاي اين تحقيق بر اساس الگوي تشخيص استعاره از عبارات و اصطلاحات مربوط به احساس خشم استخراج گرديدند و با يكديگر مقايسه شدند. نتايج حاصل از اين تحقيق شباهت­ ها و تفاوت­ هاي فراواني را ميان استعاره­ هاي مربوط به احساس خشم در اين زبان­ ها نشان مي­دهد. شباهت­ هاي موجود عمدتاً ناشي از انگيزشي جهاني است كه بيشتر به دليل فعاليت­ ها و عكس العمل­ هاي فيزيولوژيكي مشابه و همچنين عقايد مشابهي كه گويندگان اين زبان­ ها دررابطه با بدن خويش دارند به وجود آمده­ اند. تفاوت­ ها و جنبه­ هاي گوناگونـــي استعاره­ هاي مربوط به اين احساس در اين دو زبان به وجود زمينه­ هاي فرهنگي- عقيدتي متفاوت، تفاوت در رمزگذاري اطلاعات، ميزان شرح و بسط واژگاني و يا حتي نوع دستوري واحدهاي واژگاني به كار رفته مرتبط مي­ باشد.

This study investigates the use of metaphors of anger in Persian and English, based on cognitive linguistics. The paper primarily adopts the cognitive-linguistic model of Lakoff and K?vecses (1987).The results of the study indicate some similarities and differences between the metaphors of anger in Persian and English. Similarities are mostly attributed to a kind of universal motivation for the metaphors employed in these languages which has its root in the similar physiological responses to this emotion and also the similar ideas of the speakers of these two languages about their bodies. The differences are mostly related to having different cultural-ideological backgrounds, coding and decoding the information, the degrees of lexical elaboration, and even the type of lexical elements. In short, the current study reveals that metaphors of anger encompass an integrative mechanism representing not only linguistic and conceptual aspects of language use but socio-culturally-constructed meanings as well.
