Determination of Relationship Between Sport and Cultural Identity among Student Athletes

هدف پژوهش حاضر تعيين رابطه بين ورزش و حفظ هويت فرهنگي دانشجويان ورزشكار شركت كننده در مسابقات ورزشي دانشگاه هاي منطقه 6 ايران بود. جامعه آماري شامل1100 نفر كه در سال تحصيلي (91-90) عضو تيم هاي ورزشي اين مناطق بودندكه 294 نفر از طريق آزمون كرجسي و مورگان بصورت تصادفي انتخاب شدند. روش تحقيق توصيفي–همبستگي بود و داده ها به وسيله پرسشنامه اي با پايايي 86/0a= جمع آوري و از طريق روش هاي آماري استنباطي نظير آناليز واريانس يك راهه و آزمون t دو نمونه مستقل تجزيه و تحليل شد. نتايج نشان داد بين مولفه هاي هويت فرهنگي در ورزشكاران اختلاف معني-داري وجود دارد (p < 0.05). همچنين محيط ورزشي علاوه براين كه باعث تطبيق با محيط چندفرهنگي (50/90 درصد) مي شود؛ در عين حال مي تواند باعث حفظ هويت قومي آنها (70/83 درصد)گردد. لذا ورزش دانشجويي در كنار كاركرد انطباق و همسان سازي مي‌تواند كاركرد تقويت هويت فرهنگي- قومي داشته باشد. بنابراين مي توان گفت كه حفظ هويت فرهنگي و يا فرهنگ پذيري جديد بستگي به پيشينه فرهنگي ورزشكاران دارد. لذا توصيه مي شود مديران و مربيان ورزشي همواره به مباحث و مسايل فرهنگي ورزشكاران توجه نموده؛ به موازات فعاليت ورزشي به مباني فرهنگي ، ارزشي بومي، محلي، ملي و ديني ورزشكاران عنايت ويژه داشته باشند.

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between sport and cultural identity among student athletes participating in sports events held in the Iranian West Universities. The society of population consisted of 1100 persons (40% female and 60% male). The research sample was based on Krejcie and Morgan Table. The stratified random sampling has been used to select the relative gender. The sample included 294 male and female athletic teams participating at the Olympiad qualifier matches in the West Region during the academic year 90-91. This study is descriptive- co relational and a researcher-made questionnaire has been used in order to collect the data. The standardized questionnaire included 24 questions consisting of cultural identity. The questionnaire reliability was 0.86. In addition to descriptive statistics, inferential statistical tests such as analysis of variance, one-way and two-sample t-test has been used for analyzing the data. The results of this study showed that there were significant differences with respect to the components of cultural identity among athletes (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the sportive environment can create conformity with multicultural environment (90.5%). It will be able also to maintain the ethnic identity among student athletes (83.70%). We can say that the preservation of cultural identity and the acceptation of a new culture depends on athletes background. So, it is recommended that coaches, administrators and athletes always pay attention to cultural issues. At the same time, they must pay a special attention to foundations of cultural, local, national, religious problems among athletes.
