Physicians’ Perception about the Role of Clinical Librarianship at Alzahra Medical Center

مقدمه: پزشكان با رشد فناوري اطلاعات و افزايش نامحدود منابع پزشكي، با مشكلاتي در جستجو و بازيابي اطلاعات روبرو هستند. بنابراين، حضور يك فرد متخصص اطلاع يابي، مي‌تواند نقش مهمي در تامين نيازهاي اطلاعاتي آن‌ها و در نتيجه ارتقا كيفيت خدمات پزشكي داشته باشد. هدف اين پژوهش، شناسايي و تعيين ديدگاه پزشكان مركز آموزشي درماني الزهرا در خصوص ارايه خدمات كتابداري باليني بود. روش كار: روش پژوهش، پيمايشي تحليلي و نوع مطالعه كاربردي بود. جامعه پژوهش شامل 212 پزشك مركز آموزشي درماني الزهرا بود كه از بين آن ها با روش نمونه گيري در دسترس 137 پزشك به عنوان نمونه پژوهش انتخاب شد. ابزار گردآوري اطلاعات پرسشنامه محقق ساخته بود. روايي پرسشنامه‌ها توسط متخصصان تاييد و براي سنجش پايايي از روش ثبات دروني (ضريب آلفاي كرونباخ برابر 74/0) استفاده شد. داده‌ها در نرم افزار SPSS 18 تحليل و در قالب آمار توصيفي با استفاده از جداول و نمودارها و آمار استنباطي با استفاده از آزمون‌هاي ناپارامتري من يو ويتني، آناليز واريانس يك طرفه، كولموگروف- اسميرنوف و ضريب همبستگي كندال ارايه شد. يافته‌ها: در جامعه پزشكان، 3/60 درصد لزوم حضور تمام وقت در بيمارستان و نداشتن وقت كافي را مشكل موجود در دستيابي به اطلاعات جديد دانستند، 5/52 درصد اظهار داشتند كه به فرد متخصص جستجوي اطلاعات نياز دارند، بين جنس و سابقه كار پزشكان، ميزان آشنايي آن‌ها با پايگاه‌هاي اطلاعاتي حوزه حرفه اي با احساس نياز به ارايه خدمات كتابداري رابطه معنادار وجود نداشت. نتيجه گيري: با توجه به نبود وقت كافي براي پزشكان جهت رفع نيازهاي اطلاعاتي حرفه اي خود و احساس نياز آن‌ها به كمك شخص جستجوگر اطلاعات روزآمد، بهتر است با آموزش كتابداران متخصص و آشنا با منابع روز پزشكي در جهت اجراي خدمات كتابداري باليني در بيمارستان تلاش گردد. كليد واژه‌ها: خدمات اطلاع رساني پزشكي، كتابداري و اطلاع رساني، كتابدار باليني، خدمات كتابداري باليني، بيمارستان‌ها

Introduction: With the advent of information technology and expansion of medical resources, physicians face problems in search and retrieval of medical information. A need for a medical liberian to assist them to increase their skills and hence improve the clinical services rendered to patients is greatly felt. The purpose of the study was to identify and determine physicians’ viewpoints concerning the medical Liberians role in providing the service at Alzahra Medical center. Method: This survey was an analytical, applied and cross sectional study in which data were collected by means of a questionnaire. The population were 212 doctors in Alzahra Hospital. 137 physicians were randomly selected on the basis of Morgan Table. Content validity was determined by the experts, and reliability of the questionnaire were measured by chronbach`s alpha (Cronbach Alpha was 0.74). Finally data were analyzed by SPSS18, using descriptive and inferential statistics( nonparametric tests using Man-Whithney, one-way analysis of variance,Kolmogorov - Smirnov, Kendall correlation coefficients). Results: 60.3% of the participants mentioned lack of time as an obstacle in accessing the new information. 52.5 % acknowledged the need to help them search the information. There was no significant difference between male and female participants and work experience in regards with the need to medical librarians in Al Zahra Hospital. There was no significant difference between their familiarities with databases with need to the need to medical librarians in Al Zahra Hospital. Conclusion: On the basis of the findings of the study, trained medical liberians to provide assistance in the search of medical sources is needed as physicians do not have sufficient time to meet their needs to information.
