ارتقاي سواد رسانه‌اي لازمـه تحقق جامعه مدنـي نوشته

Promotion of Media Literacy, Prerequisite of Realization of Civic Society

بي‌شك نمي‌توان از نقش پررنگ رسانه‌ها در شكل‌گيري جامعه مدني غافل شد. از طرف ديگر لازمه جامعه مدني شهرونداني آگاه و فعال است. در جهاني كه مخاطبان از هر سو و هر جهت زير بمباران پيام‌هاي رسانه‌اي قرارگرفته‌اند ضرورت توجه به سواد رسانه‌اي و اهميت آن غيرقابل كتمان است. از اين‌رو سوال اصلي در اين مقاله اين است كه آيا سواد رسانه‌اي مي‌تواند در شكل‌گيري و رشد جامعه مدني تاثيرگذار باشد؟ به‌دنبال طرح اين سوال در اين پژوهش با مطالعه اسنادي و كتابخانه‌اي ضمن بررسي ويژگي‌هاي جامعه مدني از يك‌سو و مولفه‌هاي سواد رسانه‌اي از جانب ديگر مشخص شد يكي از لوازم تحقق جامعه مدني ارتقاي سواد رسانه‌اي شهروندان است تا رسانه‌ها بتوانند كاركردهاي مطلوب خود را در اين راستا داشته باشند و آگاهي شهروندان ارتقا يابد. اين مقاله نشان مي‌دهد چگونه ارتقاي سواد رسانه‌اي مي‌تواند بر نقش رسانه‌ها در جامعه تاثير گذاشته و به تحقق جامعه مدني كمك كند و بر اين حقيقت تاكيد مي‌كند كه ارتقاي سواد رسانه‌اي از ملزومات تحقق جامعه مدني است.

Undoubtedly, the significant role of the media in the formation of civic society cannot be overlooked. Indeed, the prerequisite of a civic society is active and well-informed citizens. In a world that the audience is bombarded from every direction by media messages, the necessity of paying attention to media literacy and its importance is inevitable. Therefore, the main question in this article is whether media literacy can affect formation and growth of civic society. By conducting documentation and library research, characteristics of a civic society and the components of media literacy were reviewed. It was clarified that promotion of citizen’s media literacy is one of the requirements of realization of a civic society so that the media can fulfil their optimal function in this line and the awareness of citizens would go up. This paper shows how escalation of media literacy can influence the media role in the society and help achieve civic society. It also lays emphasis on the fact that escalation of media literacy is a prerequisite of materialization of civic society.
