موضوع اين مقاله، بررسي ابعاد پيوستگي و انسجام توده و فضا در عرصه هاي عمومي شهري است. داشتن پيوستگي و انسجام يكي از اصلي ترين معيارهاي كيفيت فضاهاي شهري محسوب مي شود. فضاهاي سنتي و بومي عمدتاً واجد چنين كيفيتي بودند. مدعاي اين مقاله آن است كه در حال حاضر، هم از لحاظ عملي و هم از لحاظ نظري فضاهاي شهري و علوم مرتبط با طراحي محيطي در اين زمينه دچار چالش هاي اساسي هستند. نتيجه آن كه به لحاظ نظري، رويكردهاي نظري نسبت به اين موضوع فاقد جامعيت لازم بوده و در عمل، اكثر فضاهاي شهري فاقد پيوستگي و انسجام لازم مي باشند. نوشتار حاضر با رويكردي پديدارشناختي - روان شناختي، موضوع پيوستگي و انسجام فضاهاي عمومي شهري را مورد مطالعه قرار داده و معيارهاي پيوستگي ساختمان و شهر در فضاهاي عمومي شهري را بررسي نموده است. با رويكرد پديدارشناختي، مطالعه صرفاً محدود به وضعيت فضاهاي عمومي شهري با توجه به شرايط خاص آنها فارغ از عوامل علي گرديده است. با رويكرد روان شناختي، نقش مردم در ادراك و شناخت پيوستگي ساختمان و شهر در فضاهاي عمومي شهري مطالعه شده است. در اين مقاله پيوستگي ساختمان و شهر در فضاهاي عمومي شهري، تابعي از پيوستگي فضا در ابعاد كالبدي، فضايي، اجتماعي- فعاليتي، و نمادين معرفي شده است.

The objective of this paper is to examine the coherence and consistency of the masses and the public space in urban areas. The continuity and integrity of one of the main criteria is the quality of urban spaces. Mainly indigenous and traditional spaces such quality criteria. The paper claims that now, both practical and theoretical areas of urban and environmental design associated with the main challenges are in the field. The present article is a phenomenological approach - psychological, the continuity and coherence of urban public spaces and buildings studied and integration criteria of the urban public spaces is investigated.
