Stuart Hall and the Problematic of Identity

در اين مقاله سعي مي شود با ارجاع به آثار اصلي استوارت هال، مهمترين مسايل مطرح شده درباره هويت و بحران هاي هويتي از ديدگاه وي به صورت مختصري شرح داده شود. اين بررسي همچنين با زمينه ها و مكاتب فكري و نيز كساني كه بيشترين تاثير را بر هال داشته اند، همراه گشته است. به همين منظور ابتدا مباحث مطرح شده در باب هويت ارايه خواهد شد؛ سپس به موضوعاتي همچون جهاني شدن و بحران هويت، هويت، قوميت و نژاد و همچنين هويت و دياسپورا پرداخته خواهد شد.

The present article aims to briefly explain the most important issues raised about identity and identity crises in Hallʹs works. Today, Hall is considered a distinguished social thinker in the field of identity; he has had great influence over the related studies, particularly in cultural approaches. The present study also discusses the related fields and schools of thoughts as well as figures having the greatest influence on Hall. First, we will have a review of the related literature, i.e. identity, and then such topics as globalization and identity crisis, identity, ethnicity and race as well as identity and diasporas will be discussed. The article will also address Hallʹs methods of articulating identity; It shows that despite the fluidity of the concept of identity in view of postmodernism, yet Hall believes this concept could be used as an important conceptual tool for social analysis in the current era.
