Problem Methods in Interpreting Platoייs works

برخلاف سقراط كه در طول عمرش هيچ ننوشت و به تعاليم شفاهي بسنده كرد، افلاطون با نگارش مجموعه آثاري با موضوعات مختلف، جز بزرگ‌ترين نويسندگان و اديبان به شمار مي رود. افلاطون در طول حيات خود پيوسته در حال نوشتن بود و تنها مرگ، قلم از دست او گرفت. حاصل اين دوران دراز نويسندگي، مجموعه آثاري است با موضوعات و عناوين مختلف از تعريف فضايل اخلاقي چون دين‌داري و شجاعت و خويشتن داري گرفته تا بحث‌هاي فلسفي درباره عالم و نفس و ايده و ديدگاه‌هاي سياسي درباره شهر، قانون و حكومت. درباره هر يك از اين موضوعات نيز افلاطون در طول حيات خود چندين اثر را با عناوين مختلف نوشته است كه زمان نگارش و ترتيب آنها نيز به طور دقيق مشخص نيست. به طور نمونه او درباره سياست و اداره شهر هم «جمهور» و هم «سياست مدار» و «قوانين» را نوشته است. مجموعه اين آثار متنوع با موضوعات مختلف، خوانش و فهم آنها را از جهاتي با مشكلات و دشواري‌هايي روبه رو ساخته است كه همين دشواري منجر به سو برداشت‌هايي از تفكر افلاطون شده است. راه پرهيز از چنين سو فهم هايي در گرو دانستن چگونگي مواجهه با اين متون كلاسيك و ملزومات خوانش آن است. با توجه به تفاوتي كه در روش خوانش و مواجهه با متن و موضوع در دوره كلاسيك با موضوعات و مسايل امروزي وجود دارد، اين مقاله تلاش مي‌نمايد تا پيش از بحث در انديشه و تفكر افلاطون، مسيله چگونگي مواجهه و خوانش آثار او را مورد توجه قرار دهد، تا از اين دريچه با بررسي سبك و شيوه نويسندگي افلاطون، پيچيدگي و چندسويگي متن او، فضاي نمايشي شهرهاي يونان، كاربرد اسطوره و تمثيل و تاثير فضاي سياسي - اجتماعي، راهي بر خوانش آثار او ارايه نمايد. ملزومات چنين خوانشي نشان مي دهد كه در فهم آثار افلاطون بيش از آنكه پنهان‌نگاري اشتراوس قابل استفاده باشد، مي‌تواند مواجهه پرسشگرانه و هرمنوتيكي با متن به كار آيد.

Although Socrates did not write a word and just sufficed to oral instruction during his life, Plato is considered among the best authors and literarians… through writings his different pieces of works. Plato spent most of his life on writing continuously and death was the only thing that stopped him. The result of this long period of writing is a collection of works with various topics and titles including defining moral virtues like Religiousness and courage and self-control to philosophical arguments about the universe, law and the government. Even though his works’ chronological order is not clear, Plato has written a lot of works about all these various topics. For instance, with regard to politics and governing, he also has written ʹRepublic", ʹstatesmanʹ, and ʹLawsʹ. This collection with such a variety has made its understanding a bit complicated from some respects that this complicacy has led to some misunderstandings of Platoʹs thoughts. To avoid such misunderstandings requires one how to read and deal with them. Due to differences in the method of interpretation and dealing with text and subject of the classic period with the contemporary issues and problems, before discussing Platoʹs thoughts, this paper tries to focus on reading and dealing of Platoʹs works. Meanwhile, this study seeks a way to read Platoʹs works through investigating his writing style, complicacy and multi-dimensionality of his texts, viewing the artistic atmosphere of cities in Greece, using myth and allegory and showing the effects of socio-political status. The requirements of such interpretation shows in understanding Plato’s works, Questionable and hermeneutic dealing with texts can works, rather than having Straussʹs esotericism.
